The Bricole are the historic oak poles that characterize the Venice lagoon, delimiting the navigable canals.

The Bricole wood of Venice is an absolutely unique natural material in the world, inimitable and increasingly sought after.

Recovered from disused poles, this precious oak undergoes a slow and scrupulous cleaning and exsiccation process before being slicing and perfectly smoothed.

Immersed for years in the waters of the lagoon, the poles undergo the erosion of the tides and the Teredini tunnel, small molluscs that sculpt extraordinary decorations and embroidery.

For this reason, according to ancient traditions, Bricole must be periodically checked, removed and replaced on precise indications by the Venice Water Authority, responsible for the protection of the lagoon.

Installation

Installation is the last piece of jigsaw of this process, entirely made in Italy, that enhances the traces and signs the water of the lagoon carved in the wood day after day. A simple water-based glue, available everywhere, is used for installation.
The axes are realigned during manufacturing and the result is perfect.
